Ecofont versus Draft

Printing in draft mode or grayscales results in a lower toner usage but at the expense of quality and readability. With Ecofont the holes are placed in the middle of the character and the diameter is a ratio of the thickness of the character. As a result the outline of the character remains intact. While reading the brain will immediately recognize the character. Therefore the readability remains good.

In draft mode or printing in grayscale the reduction in toner usage(or grayscale) is achieved by applying small holes at a fixed interval. however, the holes also start in the outline of a character. As a result the outline looks fuzzy.
